A perfect little baby boy

One of my first Newborn sessions in my new Williamsville NY studio was of this little baby boy. He was perfectly sleepy throughout his whole session and made my job of photographing him so very easy. Mom and Dad were so easy going and big brother  rocked his portion of the session as well.

These type of images is why I love my job. Capturing these brand new little ones and their families for my clients. Creating memories one portrait at a time.

A Baby Girls 6 Month Session

I just recently moved my studio into a new space in Williamsville NY that I absolutely LOVE and the very first session I had after all the painting, cleaning and moving was done, was a 6 month Milestone session for a beautiful little baby girl.

I met a warrior

Every now and then you meet someone that completely humbles you.

On a warm summer evening a few weeks ago, I met a little warrior for one of my Fairy sessions at Glen Falls Park in Williamsville NY.

Her Mom had briefly mentioned that her little girl had always been too sick to have professional portraits taken and that she so much wanted a Fairy session for her little girl.

The minute Lyla stepped out of the car I knew that little one was special. She has a profound maturity and self awareness that is unusual for someone only three years old. It’s the kind of maturity that comes from going through life altering moments. The zest for life this little one has, her curiosity and openness took me by surprise.

After she had finished dressing up in her fairy outfit, she looked at me and grabbed my hand and turned to walk with me down the path into the woods.

It may not seem like a big deal to anyone but even though at that time I knew nothing about her story, that little girl touched my heart that very moment so much that I could feel tears welling up in my eyes.

Lyla was born September 2013.  She had been diagnosed in utero with Tetralogy of Fallot (FOT) with pulmonary atresia.  She was placed on a breathing tube the night she was born and had her first open heart surgery at only 8 days old. She then spend 56 days in the NICU.

Lyla struggled to thrive and had feeding difficulties and ended up needing a feeding tube before she was allowed to go home.

When she was a year and a half her heart functions decreased again and Lyla had her second open heart surgery.

Since the last surgery Lyla has made many gains and even thought she is now stable, this little girl has to continue to fight and she will need two more open heart surgeries to replace a valved conduit that is currently in place of her pulmonary artery.

Upon meeting Lyla you would never know all the fighting she has done in those three years.

This little girl has humbled me more then I can ever describe. She is a little fierce fairy and a true warrior.

Buffalo Newborn Photographer|Finally got to capture this baby boy|Gypsy’s Corner Photography

When this little sweet baby boys mom contacted me to schedule her Newborn portrait session in my Buffalo NY area studio, it was a little bit out of the norm.

Usually moms will contact me in the 2nd or early 3rd trimester to book their session. But this little man decided  to make an early entrance and he had arrived already. He was still in the hospital because he needed to grow just a bit before he could model for his photo session.

This little fighter came to see me at my Williamsville studio right around his actual due date – It was extra special to finally meet him – the most adorable and perfect little boy , all 7lbs of him and 8 weeks old.

Here are just some of mom and dads favorite images.

Dad was unfortunately busy the day of the session, so mom came with her baby boy by herself.

Do you ever run into people you instantly ‘click’ with?  That was the case here, see – I found out during the session that this baby boys mommy is a fellow photographer.

How awesome is that? We had lots to talk about and discovered we even mentored with the same person, the awesome Jenn from Ayres Photography .

Of course that meant I had to make sure that one picture captured moms passion for photography.

He was such a cute model and he certainly ‘rocked’ the pose of the last image from his session, right next to his bunny.

A little Gentlemen’s first Birthday & Cake Smash Session

I usually wait a while to blog about first Birthday and Cake Smash sessions because often my clients use their images for their little ones party or invites and I don’t want to spoil the surprise. One thing I absolutely love about my job is that I see these little ones grow right in front of my camera.  I’ve been photographing this baby boy since he was a Newborn, for Holiday and his Milestone sessions and I was thrilled to see him in my Buffalo area studio for his Gentlemen themed Cake Smash session. Isn’t he adorable?

I loved his black and gold theme and his little bow tie. I was laughing so hard when he dove face first into his cake, he had a great time with that cake and later in the tubby.

He has always been a baby full of smiles for his portraits and this session was no exception. We had so much fun from beginning to end and I can’t wait until I get to see him again!

The perfect sleeping baby boy

Those first days in a Newborn babies life are so very special. Those tiny features will change so very quickly and capturing your little one during a Newborn session will be those portraits you will cherish as your baby grows. During a recent session I had a baby boy in my Buffalo area studio for his session and he slept through it all! Just sleepy slumber the whole time. He made my job so very easy.

He even gave me a couple of those precious smiles .

This baby boy made the perfect curled up little baby bunny too.

This football was secretly taken from grandpas collection, what a special keepsake image for a very proud grandpa!

It’s almost like he is saying: “Gotcha grandpa.” haha.

While it is often floral setups for newborn baby girls I love these greenery setups for little boys.

Mom asked for a little of a woodland and forest theme for a couple of her sessions images. Her baby boy made the perfect little bear and baby fox too.

Mommy and Me…

Professional photography is not just just about portraits. It’s about capturing precious moments and connections. That is why I love the annual Mommy & Me event I offered last month in my Buffalo area studio. I loved to see my Mommy clients with their little ones. No matter if the kids are babies or older children, this event was about the love between them and their mom.

Too often Mom’s life’s are so crazy that images of themselves are put on the back burner.

Their are plenty of times they bring the little ones for a session but unless it’s a family session Mom often is not in the images.

One thing I value the most are images I have of my mom with me. From being a baby all the way to adulthood.

I know all too well how fast time flies and if I can just capture one little piece of this moment in time for my clients, it makes my heart smile.

I’m a little lion hear me roar…

Every now and then when I photograph a newborn session in my Buffalo studio, my tiny client has other ideas. This little baby boy certainly gave me a run for my money because sleeping was not on his list of things to do that morning.

He wanted Mom and who can blame him. Mommy snuggles are the best after all. We took breaks so he could have those extra snuggles with mom and then we would go on to the next setup. Baby boy called the shots for his session literally – Ha.

Yes, the session may take a little longer but in the end it is all worth it. Despite him being awake for much of his session I was able to capture him in the variety of setups his parents had requested and I didn’t mind having some extra time with little Mr.Handsome and his parents.

Mom and Dad were just beaming with pride. 

I LOVE this smirk. He was so very adorable.

I loved this very moody black and white from the session.

A little Cowboy

Just a few weeks ago I photographed a Maternity session at a Buffalo area park and before I knew it this little man arrived and came to see me in my Williamsville studio.

What a handsome little baby boy and what a beautiful family!!! It was so much fun capturing this baby boy with his big sister. She is so excited to have a little brother and was so gentle with him. Mom had asked for some neutrals, some country, a sprinkle of the Buffalo Bills and we added a little something for Easter for this newborn session. I LOVE how this little man rocked his cowboy set up. Here are just a few of this little guys session and of course my favorite part of any session is that I got to snuggle this brand new tiny miracle.

I adore that tiny smirk. He looks so content.

He was all snuggled in this little basket – an adorable little Easter bunny.
